Be Careful

Travelling without a visa, work permit or other legal documents, or crossing a border illegally, is a bad decision. If you do not have all the necessary documents required to travel abroad, you expose yourself to serious risk. If you cross a border without having a visa for the country you are entering, you are violating the law.

If you are travelling to a country with a visa-free regime for citizens of Tajikistan, check the information about entry requirements, the need to state the purpose of your trip, the permitted duration of stay without registration, the need to register with local authorities, and other requirements.

Be Cautious!

There are criminal organizations that take advantage of people who decide to leave the country illegally.

They promise to take you to the country of your choice, but they do not tell you about the difficult journey, about having to hide in trucks and other inhumane conditions. They do not tell you that you may not have the right to work upon arrival in the new country, or that all your efforts may be wasted because the country you entered may deport you back to Tajikistan. They may cause you to lose all your savings on a useless journey.

Other Situations May Also Put You at Risk

Even if you travel abroad legally, but stay longer than the validity period of your visa or work permit, you become an irregular migrant, which may lead to legal consequences. Remember that without proper documentation or a valid permit, you will always be in a vulnerable situation. If you are currently in the Russian Federation without proper registration, register with the local authorities if you have not already done so. Detailed information and contact details can be found here.

Without the proper permits and documents, the authorities of a foreign country may deport you and return you to Tajikistan.

Criminal groups may also promise you a job or another opportunity abroad. They may force their victims to perform hard work without payment or subject them to other forms of exploitation, including servitude or forced prostitution.
