The Association of Financial Organizations of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the REMIT PRIME Programme (IFAD), funded by the European Union, is implementing a project aimed at developing cross-border payments by expanding access to digital financial services, improving financial inclusion, and supporting returning migrants in creating sustainable sources of income, especially in rural areas.

As part of Financial Literacy Month, initiated by the National Bank of Tajikistan, and within the framework of the project implementation, AFOT, with the support of its partners CASP+, PMU RWP, and in cooperation with ICMPD / MRC Tajikistan, conducted a series of training sessions in April for residents of the Shahrinav and Hisor districts on the topic “Financial Literacy and Remittance Management”.

During the training, participants studied the key fundamentals of financial literacy:

Financial goals and ways to achieve them;

Money mindset and limiting beliefs;

Family budgeting and planning;

Savings;

Remittance management for recipients;

Digital and financial services;

Safety when using digital money;

Women and financial independence.

Special attention was given to making informed financial decisions in everyday life.

Participants also received important information about MRC activities and available services, general pre-departure information for labour migrants, and guidance on how to recognize fraud in the field of employment abroad.

The training sessions became a practical platform where participants gained not only knowledge but also real tools to improve financial resilience and ensure safe migration.
