“Yak Piyola Choy with Media”: Dialogue on Safe Migration and the Role of Media

On 9 July 2026, representatives of media outlets, government institutions, international organisations, migration experts, bloggers and media partners gathered at Green Wood House for the event “Yak Piyola Choy with Media”. The event focused on safe migration and strengthening cooperation between media representatives and organisations working in the field of migration.

During the meeting, participants discussed current approaches to covering migration-related issues, the role of media in informing the public, and the importance of providing accurate and reliable information on safe and regular migration.

The programme included presentations by representatives of the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC), media organisations, private employment agencies and other stakeholders. Participants exchanged experiences in covering migration topics, explored effective content creation formats and discussed opportunities for future cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to preventing migration-related fraud, promoting legal pathways for overseas employment, using digital platforms for public outreach, and sharing successful stories of labour migration and reintegration.

During the open discussion, participants shared recommendations for strengthening cooperation between media organisations and migration stakeholders, highlighting the importance of raising public awareness on safe migration issues.

The meeting concluded with a shared recognition of the importance of continuous dialogue between media professionals and migration experts to ensure objective, accurate and high-quality information for the public.
